John Melendez

John is an avid diver and photographer who grew up with a camera in his
hand and has been interested in marine biology and photography since he
was a child. He attended a High School that specialized in Marine Biology
and Oceanography, and started scuba diving in 1984.

About 3 years ago, John combined his love of the ocean with photography
and since then has spent most of his free time underwater.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, John has lived in many places, including France, Spain, and Japan. He currently resides in Vancouver, Canada, where he dives regularly in the Pacific Northwest waters, which
are full of great photography subjects.

When not underwater, or taking pictures, John is usually found travelling and exploring, or working as a negotiator/attorney.
